Describe real scraps
Use rectangles, L-shaped remnants, cut-corner shapes, or a simple polygon. Add holes, stains, tears and already-used zones as movable rectangles.
Fabric scrap cut optimizer
Plan cuts across scraps, remnants, and damaged fabric without uploading anything. ScrapFit searches multiple placement strategies and shows a practical cut map.
Production v1 workspace
Dimensions are normalized internally, but reports stay in your selected unit. The optimizer uses a configurable grid approximation and reports its precision.
How ScrapFit works
ScrapFit expands quantity rows into individual pieces, applies seam allowance and spacing, then tries several sorting and placement orders. Candidate rectangles must stay inside each remnant polygon, avoid every defect, obey rotation and grain rules, and avoid previously placed pieces.
Use rectangles, L-shaped remnants, cut-corner shapes, or a simple polygon. Add holes, stains, tears and already-used zones as movable rectangles.
Large-piece, long-edge, priority and randomized orders are scored in a Web Worker so the controls remain responsive.
Print, export SVG or PNG, or save the project JSON. Unplaced pieces remain visible instead of disappearing.
FAQ
No. It searches several efficient arrangements under a time and precision limit. Try another layout and compare before cutting expensive material.
Dimensions remain exact, while candidate positions move on a grid. Fine precision checks more positions and takes longer. The reported precision states the maximum grid step.
Production v1 supports simple straight-edge polygons. Approximate a curve with several vertices and leave a safety margin.
